A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Hidden water damage

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Bath resealing at your home in Carbrain

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Fresh joints make the entire room look cleaner, and they protect the walls and floor. Typical jobs include gaps in the seal and a messy previous reseal, in wet rooms, basins & vanity units and kitchen worktops & sinks.

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Why it’s worth resealing in Carbrain

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. Compared with replacing, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

How the visit works

We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. It normally takes a couple of hours, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

What bath resealing costs

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • How many areas need work
  • Access to the area
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What kind of damage it is

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed price

When you take your photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Any details about the material
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Your questions about bath resealing in Carbrain

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Carbrain.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

Normally after around 24 hours. We’ll tell you the exact time.

Different materials, different repairs

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

How to look after the repair

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in

Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
