Bath resealing in Greenfaulds without replacing anything

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Fresh joints make the entire room look cleaner, and they keep water out. Common call-outs are for a messy previous reseal and black spots in the silicone, across baths, wet rooms and basins & vanity units.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

The process

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take around two hours, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Advice

How we price bath resealing

There’s no area surcharge for Greenfaulds. The price reflects:

  • Access to the area
  • The material and finish
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Unusual colours or finishes

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed price

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The material, if you know it
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Where you are, by postcode

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job.

Why it’s worth resealing in Greenfaulds

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Greenfaulds. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why us?

  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • One visit for most repairs
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

When we would advise against a repair

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

Common problems we fix in Greenfaulds

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning cannot get it all out.

The things customers usually mention when they call are:

  • Gaps in the seal
  • Gaps by the taps
  • Black mould in the sealant
  • A messy previous reseal
