Bath resealing for Carmel homes

Bath resealing in Carmel without replacing anything

A good reseal is all about preparation: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Only then does the new sealant go on, as one neat, continuous bead. Whether it’s gaps in the seal and damp near the bath, we can help, whatever the material.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Carmel as everywhere else we work.

Honest limits

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Hidden water damage
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing costs very little and protects the walls and floor. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

What you get with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

See our prices page.

Aftercare tips

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Keep the joints dry

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, usually around 24 hours.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

When to call us in Carmel

Joints split if the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed while the bath was empty.

The things customers generally mention when they call include:

  • An untidy old seal
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Unsealed corners

Before booking anyone

  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • Whether they match the colour on site

10 questions to ask before booking

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Carmel

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Gwynedd and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

If you manage property in Carmel, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we will price them together.

Carmel: your questions answered

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Will there be a smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied. It clears as the materials cure.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

All the old sealant comes out. New silicone will not bond to old.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Do you come to Carmel?

We do. Technicians travel to Carmel from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It normally takes a couple of hours, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Related advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
