Bath resealing near Carmel

About our bath resealing in Carmel

We cut out all of the old sealant, treat any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. If you are dealing with mould you can’t clean out and gaps by the taps, we can usually put it right, on shower trays & enclosures, wet rooms and kitchen worktops & sinks alike.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Repairs by material

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

What a repair cannot fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Landlords, agents and businesses in Carmel

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Isle of Anglesey and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Why reseal now?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

The process

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. Once we are there, the work takes about two hours for a bath in most cases. The room is left tidy and you will know when it can be used.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

How to prepare

  • Open a window if you can
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Do you need bath resealing in Carmel?

Sealant splits when the bath or tray moves, frequently because it was sealed with the bath empty.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Leaks at the edges
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Silicone smeared on tiles

Prices and what affects them

You’ll know the full cost before you book. We look at:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The colour and finish to match

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Carmel. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Details of any past repairs

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Carmel questions

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You’ll get a fixed quote back, typically with dates to choose from. You are under no obligation.

Are there extra charges for Carmel?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Typically poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
