Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Cartledge, Derbyshire
Local bath resealing for Cartledge: a fixed quote from pictures, a tidy visit and a one-year guarantee.
- Mould you cannot clean out
- Stained silicone
- Gaps in the seal

How we handle bath resealing in Cartledge
A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and a new seal stops it. We regularly repair baths, wet rooms and basins & vanity units, and the jobs we see most are silicone smeared on tiles and sealant that’s split or lifting.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it.

When to call us in Cartledge
Sealant doesn’t last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.
It’s worth getting a quote if you see:
- Black mould in the sealant
- Leaks at the edges
- Gaps by the taps
- Silicone smeared on tiles
What to look for in a quote

How we price bath resealing
There is no charge for travel to Cartledge. The price comes down to:
- The type of damage
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Doing more than one item at once
- How much damage there is
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Quotes from your photos
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath or shower, we can give you a fixed price the same day in most cases.

Questions from Cartledge
Does someone need to be in?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Can landlords book you?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners in Cartledge.
Do you work in Cartledge?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Cartledge and the rest of Derbyshire. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Of course, and it generally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and you’ll get one combined price.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.
How long does resealing take?
Most reseals take about two hours. It then needs time to cure.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
Is there any odour?
There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.
Why reseal now?
Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

What we do, step by step
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Plan for a couple of hours from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We cut out all of the old sealant.
- Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know about parking or access
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Ensure the area is dry
How to get a price
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

How to care for the repair
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Let steam out after showers
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
- Do not stand toiletries on the seal
Keep the room well ventilated, and dry the joints after bathing so mould struggles to take hold.
Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.
For landlords and businesses
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Cartledge use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it usually costs far less than a refit.
