About bath repair in S18

We’ve repaired just about every kind of bath damage: dropped-bottle chips, plughole rust, acrylic cracks and impact holes. Each is repaired in place with a one-year guarantee. We work on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most often call us about rust by the waste and overflow and scuffs and scratches in the surface.

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It usually takes a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the next day.

What it costs in S18

Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why customers in S18 choose us

  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

How to get a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Around Dronfield

Our clients here include homes close to St John the Baptist's Church, White Swan pub and Dronfield Junior School, among other places. Dronfield has its own railway station: Dronfield station. Other landmarks nearby include Nether Edge Hospital (4.2 miles north) and Dronfield Urban District (under half a mile east). For a walk, there’s Totley Moor and Blacka Moor Nature Reserve.

What a repair can’t fix

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. There is no charge for travel to S18. The price comes down to:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The material and finish
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your pictures

You can take the pictures on your phone. Ensure they show:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The material, if you know it
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Aftercare tips

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

DIY kit or professional repair?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
