Bath resealing in Chale without replacing anything

We reseal baths, shower trays, basins and worktops using mould-resistant silicone. A typical reseal takes a couple of hours. Our repair technicians work on shower trays & enclosures, wet rooms and baths, and people most often call us about water getting behind the bath or tray and a messy previous reseal.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit.

The process

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job normally takes a couple of hours. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.

Preparing for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Common questions in Chale

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

Can you quote from photos?

Normally, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

No, we never seal over old silicone. The old sealant is cut out and the joint cleaned and dried.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Something is moving. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

We will give you the curing time, normally around a day.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Do you work in Chale?

Yes, we do. Repair technicians travel to Chale from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

What does bath resealing cost?

Every job gets a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item with your PO38 postcode.

Repairs by material

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Isle of Wight and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

How we price bath resealing

There’s no charge for travel to Chale. The price comes down to:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • What the surface is made of
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The colour and finish to match

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Most clients in Chale get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Signs you need bath resealing in Chale

A bathroom without good ventilation is hard on sealant: moisture sits on the joints longer, and mould grows faster.

Most people contact us when they notice one of these:

  • Damp near the bath
  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • Gaps in the seal
  • Discoloured, yellow sealant

What to look for in a quote

  • What happens if they find more damage
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • How the colour is matched
  • How to look after the finish

When a repair isn’t the answer

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • A flexing bath
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units

Aftercare tips

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Air the room after use

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.
