Bath resealing in Cockyard, done in place

We cut out all of the old sealant, deal with any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. We work on wet rooms, basins & vanity units and baths, and people most frequently call us about black mould in the sealant and gaps in the seal.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

FAQs for Cockyard

Do you cover Cockyard?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Cockyard and the rest of Derbyshire. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

We always remove the old sealant completely. Fresh silicone does not stick to old.

Can you quote from photos?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Damp is the cause. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.

How long does silicone take to cure?

We will give you the curing time, typically around a day.

What does bath resealing cost?

Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your SK23 postcode.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

The process

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which typically takes about two hours for a bath. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Advice

What bath resealing costs

We price every job individually, from your pictures. The main factors are:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The colour and finish to match

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Cockyard. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

To get a price, send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will say right away if a repair is the right fix.

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Cockyard

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Open a window after bathing
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Ventilate the bathroom well

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

What we can’t put right

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A flexing bath
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Hidden water damage

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
