Trusted bath resealing in Cringles

Bath resealing at your home in Cringles

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. We are often asked to fix silicone smeared on tiles and black spots in the silicone, across basins & vanity units, kitchen worktops & sinks and baths.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Cringles

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.

Resealing in Cringles: why it matters

Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

When to call us in Cringles

Sealant doesn’t last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Gaps in the seal
  • A messy previous reseal
  • Mould you can’t clean out

What your quote should include

  • Who turns up on the day
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • How the colour is matched
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long

10 questions to ask before booking

When a repair isn’t the answer

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Movement in the bath or tray

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures

What happens on the day

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take around two hours.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Advice

Different materials, different repairs

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Keeping it looking good

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Give the seal a regular clean

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Cringles questions

What happens after I send photos?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

Do you cover the whole of Bradford?

We work UK-wide, so Cringles is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.

How long does silicone take to cure?

Normally after around 24 hours. We’ll tell you the exact time.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Are there extra charges for Cringles?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Do you work in Cringles?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Cringles and the rest of Bradford. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
