Bath resealing near Dalebank

Bath resealing in Dalebank, done in place

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. We are often asked to fix unsealed corners and black mould in the sealant, in shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and wet rooms.

Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Derbyshire.

Common questions in Dalebank

Can you quote from photos?

Nearly always. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK, so Dalebank is covered. Prices don’t change with location.

How do I book?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

How much does bath resealing cost in Dalebank?

Every job gets a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your S45 postcode.

What happens after I send photos?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why us?

  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Everything repaired in place
  • A fixed quote before you book

What happens on the day

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It typically takes about two hours for a bath, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

Getting a price

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos through our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

How we price bath resealing

Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • What the surface is made of

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Quotes from your photos

You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • One picture of the entire bath or shower
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Where you are, by postcode

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Use the extractor fan
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off

Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Work for landlords and builders

If you manage property in Dalebank, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Black mould in the sealant

When a repair isn’t the answer

  • Hidden water damage
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
