Trusted bath resealing in Dumbreck

Dumbreck: your questions answered

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

How long does resealing take?

A bath or shower usually takes a couple of hours. It then needs time to cure.

Are there extra charges for Dumbreck?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide. Prices don’t change with location.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Do you come to Dumbreck?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Dumbreck for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mould needs moisture. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.

Bath resealing in Dumbreck without replacing anything

A good reseal is all about preparation: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Then the fresh sealant goes on, in a neat, continuous bead. We are often asked to fix silicone coming away from the tiles and a messy previous reseal, in wet rooms, baths and kitchen worktops & sinks.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Glasgow.

How the visit works

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes around two hours. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

Advice

When a repair isn’t the answer

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

What affects the price in Dumbreck

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What the surface is made of
  • Doing more than one item at once

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Quotes from your photos

Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Why it’s worth resealing in Dumbreck

Resealing costs very little. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why us?

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • No need to remove anything

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Keeping it looking good

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal

Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Work for landlords and builders

For anyone letting property in or around Dumbreck, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we’ll price them together.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll handle the rest.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
