How we handle bath resealing in East Cambridgeshire

Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they keep water out. Typical jobs include stained silicone and missing sealant behind the taps, on kitchen worktops & sinks, shower trays & enclosures and baths.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

How we price bath resealing

You’ll know the full cost before you book. We look at:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How much damage there is
  • Access to the area
  • The material

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Send photos for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Any details about the material

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath or shower, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Why it’s worth resealing in East Cambridgeshire

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

What a repair cannot fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

East Cambridgeshire questions

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

No, we never seal over old silicone. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide, and that includes East Cambridgeshire. Prices do not change with location.

How long before I can shower?

Normally about a day later. We confirm before we leave.

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Movement is the usual cause, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We seal baths full of water.

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It generally takes around two hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

How to prepare

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Getting a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

How to look after the repair

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Air the room after use

Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Landlord and trade work in East Cambridgeshire

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
