Bath resealing in Ednam

Bath resealing in Ednam without replacing anything

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. We regularly repair shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and wet rooms, and common reasons people get in touch are gaps in the seal and leaks at the edges.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Ednam questions

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide, so Ednam is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Do you come to Ednam?

Yes, we do. Repair technicians travel to Ednam from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

What bath resealing costs

There’s no charge for travel to Ednam. The price comes down to:

  • The material and finish
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Send photos for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • The material, if you know it
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Send us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your TD5 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Ednam

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

What we’re called out for in Ednam

No sealant lasts for ever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Stained silicone
  • Black mould in the sealant

Questions to ask before booking

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Who turns up on the day
  • When it can be used again

How to care for the repair

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Air the room after use
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
  • Wipe the joints dry after use

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Why reseal now?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is and protects the walls and floor. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why Ednam clients choose us

  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • Everything repaired in place

How it works

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes a couple of hours. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

How to prepare

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
