Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Fenwick, Northumberland
Bath resealing for Fenwick, without a refit. Send us pictures for a fixed price, then we come to you.
- Unsealed corners
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
- Silicone coming away from the tiles

Bath resealing in Fenwick, done in place
We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint is at its widest, so the seal does not tear when the bath is first used. Common call-outs are for missing sealant behind the taps and silicone coming away from the tiles, in shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and baths.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone.

When to call us in Fenwick
In time, even good sealant discolours, especially in a busy family bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.
It’s worth getting a quote if you see:
- Damp near the bath
- Gaps in the seal
- Old sealant that looks dirty
- Mould you can’t clean out
What to look for in a quote
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- What happens if they find more damage
- Who turns up on the day
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
Questions from Fenwick
Do you cover the whole of Northumberland?
All of Northumberland, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.
Will there be a smell?
There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.
Can you quote from pictures?
Typically, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
Why does the silicone keep cracking?
Movement is the usual cause. We seal baths full of water.
Do you cover Fenwick?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Fenwick and the rest of Northumberland. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Different materials, different repairs
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.
Is resealing worth it?
A professional reseal costs little compared with water damage. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Work for landlords and builders
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Fenwick as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Dry the seal after bathing
- Let steam out after showers
- Do not stand toiletries on the seal
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
Avoid scraping the joints, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem; it shows moisture is getting in. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
How the visit works
On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take around two hours. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- We remove the residue and clean the joint.
- We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
- The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
- New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.
Preparing for the visit

Advice
What a repair can’t fix
Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.
Materials we repair
- Basins & vanity units
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Baths
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Wet rooms
Can I fix it myself?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
