Bath resealing near Grangetown

How we handle bath resealing in Grangetown

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they keep water out. Whether it’s stained silicone and black mould in the sealant, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Common questions in Grangetown

Do you come to Grangetown?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Grangetown and the rest of Cardiff. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mould needs moisture. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK, and that includes Grangetown. Our prices are the same everywhere.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Prices and what affects them

We do not charge extra for travel to Grangetown. The price comes down to:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Getting a price from photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Keeping it looking good

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:

  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal

Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

What we do, step by step

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. Once we’re there, the work takes around two hours in most cases. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

How to get a price
