Bath resealing in Tiger Bay, done in place
We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint opens fully, so the seal does not tear when the bath is first used. Our repair technicians work on wet rooms, baths and kitchen worktops & sinks, and the jobs we see most are damp near the bath and gaps in the seal.
Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Is resealing worth it?
Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.
When to call us in Tiger Bay
In time, even good sealant discolours particularly in a well-used bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- Water getting behind the bath or tray
- Missing sealant behind the taps
- Gaps in the seal
- Black mould in the sealant

What affects the price in Tiger Bay
There’s no area surcharge for Tiger Bay. The price reflects:
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- The colour and finish to match
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- The material
A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Getting a price from pictures
Phone photos are fine. Make sure they show:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A photo taken from further back
- Where you are, by postcode
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and no obligation.
When we would advise against a repair
It helps to know what we can’t do too:
- A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Work for landlords and builders
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Cardiff and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Questions from Tiger Bay
Do you hold any accreditations?
We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.
Do the materials smell?
A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.
Do you come to Tiger Bay?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Tiger Bay. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
Can you quote from photos?
Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
What happens after I send pictures?
You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
The process
On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take about two hours for a bath, tidy-up included.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.
How to prepare
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
Getting a price
We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.
