Bath resealing in Guy's Head

How we price bath resealing

Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material and finish
  • The colour and finish to match

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book.

Getting a price from pictures

Two or three clear photos are typically enough. Try to include:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • The material, if you know it

Most clients in Guy's Head get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Bath resealing in Guy's Head, done in place

Preparation is everything in a reseal: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Then the fresh sealant goes on, in a neat, continuous bead. Our technicians work on shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units, and people most often call us about stained silicone and missing sealant behind the taps.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Repairs by material

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Landlord and trade work in Guy's Head

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

Looking after it afterwards

A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:

  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Use the extractor fan

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Why reseal now?

Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

The process

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes about two hours for a bath, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

How to get a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
