About our bath re-enamelling in Guy's Head

The bath stays where it is, so the taps, tiles and plumbing are not touched. Most baths are done in one visit, and can be used again the following day. We are frequently asked to fix a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and wear marks under the taps, across basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and acrylic baths.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are covered after the visit.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Resurfacing takes one technician and typically a day, with the bath back in use the following day. Prices start from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What affects the price in Guy's Head

Resurfacing from £350. You will know the full cost before you book. We look at:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material and finish
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The type of damage

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Guy's Head. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Guy's Head

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Does re-enamelling smell?

Yes, while we’re applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

What does bath re-enamelling cost?

Prices start from £350. Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It usually takes a full day, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.
