About our bath resealing in Heckmondwike

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Fresh joints make the entire room look cleaner, and they keep water out. We are often asked to fix black mould in the sealant and old sealant that looks dirty, across kitchen worktops & sinks, shower trays & enclosures and basins & vanity units.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

The process

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It usually takes a couple of hours, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, taps included.

Before we arrive

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

What affects the price in Heckmondwike

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send pictures for a quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:

  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Most customers in Heckmondwike get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

When to call us in Heckmondwike

A bathroom without good ventilation is hard on sealant: damp hangs around, and mould grows faster.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Unsealed corners
  • Silicone smeared on tiles
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Discoloured, yellow sealant

What to look for in a quote

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Choosing a repair company

Different materials, different repairs

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.
