Bath resealing in Hogaland

Bath resealing in Hogaland without replacing anything

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and a new seal stops it. Our repair technicians work on basins & vanity units, wet rooms and kitchen worktops & sinks, and the jobs we see most are an untidy old seal and unsealed corners.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

FAQs for Hogaland

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Usually, yes. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

How long does a reseal take?

Normally a couple of hours, plus curing time.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Resealing in Hogaland: why it matters

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What bath resealing costs

We charge the same across the UK, including Hogaland. The price reflects:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Access to the area
  • Unusual colours or finishes

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Hogaland. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Aftercare tips

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Let steam out after showers
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Store bottles on a shelf

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

Repairs by material

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What we do, step by step

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes about two hours for a bath, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.

How to prepare

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Do you need bath resealing in Hogaland?

Sealant doesn’t last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould loves, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.
