Need bath resealing in Leeds?

Keeping it looking good

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Let steam out after showers

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, generally around 24 hours.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

How we handle bath resealing in Leeds

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Typical jobs include mould you can’t clean out and stained silicone, across shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and wet rooms.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What happens on the day

Your technician turns up when we said we would and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take a couple of hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Preparing for the visit

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

How we price bath resealing

We don’t charge extra for travel to Leeds. The price comes down to:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • What the surface is made of

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Getting a price from pictures

You can take the pictures on your phone, there’s no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower
  • The material, if you know it

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job without visiting.

FAQs for Leeds

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Something is moving. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Will there be a smell?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

How do I book?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

What happens next?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

For landlords and businesses

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Signs you need bath resealing in Leeds

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning cannot get it all out.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Gaps in the seal
  • Gaps by the taps
  • Silicone smeared on tiles
  • Leaks at the edges

Comparing quotes

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • How soon you can use it again
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Whether they match the colour on site

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Is resealing worth it?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is and protects the walls and floor. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
