Bath resealing in Wetherby without replacing anything

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. Common call-outs are for missing sealant behind the taps and a messy previous reseal, across shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and wet rooms.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Wetherby and across Leeds.

Your questions about bath resealing in Wetherby

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

What does bath resealing cost?

Because every job differs, we price from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, Wetherby included. There is no extra charge for travel.

Different materials, different repairs

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

What a repair can’t fix

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Movement in the bath or tray

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms

What happens on the day

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you’re not left guessing. Once we are there, the work takes a couple of hours in most cases. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Advice

Aftercare tips

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner

Avoid scraping the joints, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Work for landlords and builders

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing costs very little and protects the walls and floor. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
