About our bath resealing in Llanmadoc

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. If you are dealing with missing sealant behind the taps and sealant that’s split or lifting, we can help.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

What bath resealing costs

There is no charge for travel to Llanmadoc. The price comes down to:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How many areas need work
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Quotes from your pictures

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Where you are, by postcode

If you are in Llanmadoc and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Llanmadoc questions

Are you a vetted contractor?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

How much does bath resealing cost in Llanmadoc?

Because every job differs, we price from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before booking.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Can pets and children be at home?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.

Can you quote from pictures?

Generally, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can new silicone go over old?

We always remove the old sealant completely. New silicone will not bond to old.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

The process

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. Allow around two hours, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

How to prepare

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

How to get a price

Most clients in Llanmadoc get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Advice

Signs you need bath resealing in Llanmadoc

Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning only removes the surface.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Unsealed corners
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Sealant that’s split or lifting
  • Black mould in the sealant

What your quote should include

  • How long it needs to cure
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Who will actually do the work
  • What prep work is covered

Our hiring checklist

What a repair can’t fix

A repair is not always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Why reseal now?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is and protects the walls and floor. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Why Llanmadoc customers choose us

  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • No extra charge for your area
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

See our full price list.

Keeping it looking good

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Use the extractor fan

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, typically around 24 hours.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
