How we handle bath resealing in Longniddry
Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they protect the walls and floor. Our repair technicians work on wet rooms, shower trays & enclosures and kitchen worktops & sinks, and common reasons people get in touch are gaps in the seal and unsealed corners.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Why it’s worth resealing in Longniddry
Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Longniddry. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Longniddry: your questions answered
Can you reseal over the old silicone?
Never over old. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.
Is there a guarantee?
All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.
What does bath resealing cost?
Because every job differs, we price from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
Do you come to Longniddry?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Longniddry and the rest of East Lothian. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Will there be a smell?
Expect a mild smell while we’re working that clears as it cures.
Is it messy?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
What happens if you find more damage?
We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
When we’d advise against a repair
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- Hollow or loose tiles
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
What we work on
- Basins & vanity units
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Baths
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
The process
Visits start with a quick look at the job together. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. It normally takes a couple of hours, and we will keep you posted as we go.
- We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- We make sure the joint is completely dry.
- Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
- We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.
Preparing for the visit

- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
Getting a price
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

What else we do in Longniddry
Can I fix it myself?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
How to care for the repair
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
- Keep the joints dry
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Do not stand toiletries on the seal
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.
Repairs by material
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

How we price bath resealing
We price every job individually. What matters most is:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- How hard the colour is to match
- How many areas need work
- The material
There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Quotes from your photos
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- One picture of the entire bath or shower
- The material, if you know it
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
Work for landlords and builders
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Longniddry as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
