Bath resealing in Lower Gravenhurst without replacing anything

Preparation is everything in a reseal: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Only then does the new sealant go on, in a neat, continuous bead. Whether it’s gaps in the seal and missing sealant behind the taps, we can generally put it right, on wet rooms, shower trays & enclosures and baths alike.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back.

What we do, step by step

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to around two hours, tidy-up included.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Preparing for the visit

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Ask for a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

Never over old. The old sealant is cut out and the joint cleaned and dried.

Resealing in Lower Gravenhurst: why it matters

A professional reseal costs little compared with water damage. It’s a quick job that protects your walls and floors. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Common problems we fix in Lower Gravenhurst

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning cannot get it all out.

Keep an eye out for these signs:

  • Sealant that’s split or lifting
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Discoloured, yellow sealant
  • A messy previous reseal

10 questions to ask before you book

How we price bath resealing

You’ll know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material
  • Access to the area

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Send photos for a quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The material, if you know it
  • Where you are, by postcode

Upload pictures of the damage and one of the whole item, with your MK45 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
