Bath resealing near Maryhill

About our bath resealing in Maryhill

A good reseal is all about preparation: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Then the fresh sealant goes on, in a neat, continuous bead. If you’re dealing with an untidy old seal and missing sealant behind the taps, we can help.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why book with us

  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Fixed prices from your pictures

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Open a window after bathing

Avoid scraping the joints, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

The process

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It typically takes around two hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.

How to prepare

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

When we’d advise against a repair

  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

What bath resealing costs

We don’t charge extra for travel to Maryhill. The price depends on:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material and finish
  • Unusual colours or finishes

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

How to get a fixed quote

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Any details about the material

Email us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Maryhill, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Maryhill: your questions answered

Are there extra charges for Maryhill?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

What information do you need?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

How do I get a price for bath resealing in Maryhill?

We give a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item with your G20 postcode.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.

Do the materials smell?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Maryhill as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it generally costs far less than a refit.
