Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Nebo, Gwynedd
Bath resealing in and around Nebo: photo quotes, tidy work and a year’s guarantee.
- A messy previous reseal
- Silicone coming away from the tiles
- Water getting behind the bath or tray

What affects the price in Nebo
A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:
- How many items we do on one visit
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- How hard the colour is to match
- What kind of damage it is
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
How to get a fixed quote
You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:
- A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
- Details of any past repairs
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
To get a price, send a couple of pictures using our quote form or call us. We’ll say right away whether it can be repaired.
Bath resealing in Nebo, done in place
A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. If you’re dealing with gaps by the taps and sealant that’s split or lifting, we can help.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Nebo as everywhere else we work.

Typically a couple of hours, plus curing time.

Normally after around 24 hours. We’ll tell you the exact time.

Does someone need to be in?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.
Different materials, different repairs
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.
Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.
When to call us in Nebo
Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning can’t get it all out.
Send us a photo if you notice any of these:
- Stained silicone
- Mould you can’t clean out
- A messy previous reseal
- Missing sealant behind the taps
Comparing quotes
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- When it can be used again
- What protection goes down before work starts
- What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
When we’d advise against a repair
It helps to know what we cannot do too:
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- Hollow or loose tiles
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
What we work on
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Basins & vanity units
- Baths
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Wet rooms
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
How it works
Arrival times are agreed in advance. On site, it takes a couple of hours. The room is left tidy.
- All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
- We clean the joint and treat any mould.
- The joint is dried thoroughly.
- For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
- New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear the area around the damage
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Let us know about parking or access
Ask for a price
There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
Related advice
Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Wipe the joints dry after use
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Air the room after use
Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
Why it’s worth resealing in Nebo
Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and that damage costs much more to fix. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
