Bath resealing in North End

Bath resealing in North End, done in place

We cut out all of the old sealant, treat any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. If you’re dealing with sealant that’s split or lifting and stained silicone, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

North End: your questions answered

Can you quote from photos?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath or shower and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, North End included. There’s no extra charge for travel.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

What happens next?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Usually poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.

How to compare quotes

Work for landlords and builders

For anyone letting property in or around North End, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Different materials, different repairs

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Keeping it looking good

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Air the room after use

Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

How it works

Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes about two hours for a bath, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
