Our bath repair service in NW3
Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in a single visit. We regularly repair acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel, and the jobs we see most are snagging damage from a refit and rust by the waste and overflow.
We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take a few hours, depending on the damage, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the following day.
Prices in NW3
Prices start from £95. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

How to care for the repair
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Have new chips seen to early
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
Give the repair the full curing time we recommend before using the bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.
If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. There is no charge for travel to NW3. The price comes down to:
- The material and finish
- What kind of damage it is
- How easy the damage is to reach
- How hard the colour is to match
The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.
Send photos for a quote
You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:
- Natural light rather than flash
- One picture of the entire bath
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.
Should you replace it?
People frequently assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it doesn’t: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it.
Questions to ask before you book
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- How your room will be protected
- How long it needs to cure
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.
Common questions in NW3
Will it make a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
Is there a call-out fee?
We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Typically, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
What do you need from me?
Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.
Do the materials smell?
There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.
