Bath resealing at your home in Northiam

All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. Typical jobs include black spots in the silicone and an untidy old seal, in kitchen worktops & sinks, wet rooms and baths.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Northiam and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair is not always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • A flexing bath
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms

Prices and what affects them

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How much damage there is
  • Doing more than one item at once

Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Getting a price from photos

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower
  • What it’s made of, if you know

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. We remove the old sealant completely. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Why Northiam customers choose us

  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • No need to remove anything

Can I fix it myself?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Keeping it looking good

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Let steam out after showers
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Ventilate the bathroom well

Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing so mould struggles to take hold.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Questions from Northiam

Are there extra charges for Northiam?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Generally because the bath or tray moves. We seal baths full of water.

How do I get a price for bath resealing in Northiam?

Every job gets a fixed price based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your TN31 postcode.

What happens after I send photos?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Typically, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

The process

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take a couple of hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Ask for a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
