Trusted bath resealing in Parr

Bath resealing at your home in Parr

All of the old sealant is cut out, treat any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. We work on kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and baths, and the jobs we see most are discoloured, yellow sealant and black mould in the sealant.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll sort it.

Looking after it afterwards

Aftercare is simple:

  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Air the room after use
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Dry the seal after bathing

Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

What happens on the day

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a couple of hours, tidy-up included.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

What a repair cannot fix

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

Questions from Parr

How do I book?

Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Can pets and children be at home?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

Do you work in Parr?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Parr. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Why reseal now?

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. We remove the old sealant completely. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking.

What affects the price in Parr

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material and finish

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Parr. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • Any details about the material
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures through our quote form or ring us. We’ll say immediately whether it can be repaired.

DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
