Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Bath resealing at your home in Prospect Village

All of the old sealant is cut out, treat any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. If you are dealing with black spots in the silicone and damp near the bath, we can help, whatever the material.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Questions from Prospect Village

Do you work in Prospect Village?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Prospect Village. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How much does bath resealing cost in Prospect Village?

Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You’ll get a fixed figure before you book.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mould needs moisture. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

What happens after I send pictures?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.

Can you quote from pictures?

Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and you will get one combined price.

Do you cover the entire of Staffordshire?

We cover the entire UK, including Prospect Village and the rest of Staffordshire. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will offer you dates.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

We will give you the curing time, typically around a day.

Repairs by material

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Aftercare tips

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Air the room after use
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner

Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing so mould struggles to take hold.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.

When we would advise against a repair

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • A flexing bath
  • Hidden water damage
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units

What we do, step by step

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we are doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. You can expect it to take about two hours for a bath, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

How to get a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Advice

How we price bath resealing

We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing usually costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Quotes from your pictures

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures through our quote form or call us. We’ll say straight away whether it can be repaired.

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. We remove the old sealant completely. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.
