What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Bath resealing in Risley, done in place

All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. Our repair technicians work on wet rooms, shower trays & enclosures and baths, and people most often call us about mould you can’t clean out and leaks at the edges.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back.

Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Shower trays & enclosures

What we do, step by step

Once we are through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes about two hours for a bath, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Preparing for the visit

Looking after it afterwards

Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:

  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Ventilate the bathroom well

Avoid scraping the joints, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

How to compare quotes

DIY kit or professional repair?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

How we price bath resealing

We charge the same across the UK, including Risley. What changes the price is:

  • The material
  • The type of damage
  • How much damage there is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed price

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Details of any past repairs

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath or shower, we can price the job.
