Trusted bath resealing in Scredda

Why reseal now?

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. We remove the old sealant completely. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why Scredda clients choose us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Same prices wherever you are

How we handle bath resealing in Scredda

A good reseal is all about preparation: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Only then does the new sealant go on, in a neat, continuous bead. If you’re dealing with old sealant that looks dirty and damp near the bath, we can help.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

The process

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, then carry out the work, which generally takes about two hours for a bath. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Related advice

How we price bath resealing

We don’t charge extra for travel to Scredda. The price depends on:

  • The material and finish
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How hard the colour is to match

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send pictures for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A photo taken from further back

For a price in Scredda, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Keeping it looking good

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

When a repair is not the answer

A repair is not always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. We cannot fix:

  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • A flexing bath
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

10 questions to ask before you book

Repairs by material

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
