Bath resealing in Skirwith

Skirwith: your questions answered

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK, so Skirwith is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

How do I book?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in Skirwith.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

How long before I can shower?

We’ll give you the curing time, usually around a day.

Bath resealing in Skirwith without replacing anything

Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they keep water out. Common call-outs are for mould you can’t clean out and missing sealant behind the taps, on shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and wet rooms.

All our work comes with our one-year guarantee.

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

What affects the price in Skirwith

We charge the same across the UK, including Skirwith. What changes the price is:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The type of damage
  • How many areas need work
  • How easy the damage is to reach

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Skirwith. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

When you take your pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath or shower, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

Aftercare tips

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Open a window after bathing

Avoid scraping the joints, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Resealing in Skirwith: why it matters

Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and that damage costs much more to fix. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

How the visit works

We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. It normally takes around two hours.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

How to prepare

  • Open a window if you can
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Ensure the area is dry

Getting a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
