Bath resealing in Southwick

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Bath resealing at your home in Southwick

Preparation is everything in a reseal: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Only then does the new sealant go on, in a neat, continuous bead. We regularly repair kitchen worktops & sinks, baths and shower trays & enclosures, and common reasons people contact us are silicone smeared on tiles and stained silicone.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Common questions in Southwick

Why does mould come back so fast?

Damp is the cause. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Will there be a smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.

Do you cover Southwick?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Southwick. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Which areas do you work in?

The whole UK, including all of Wiltshire. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.

How long does a reseal take?

Most reseals take about two hours. Leave it to cure before use.

What happens on the day

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take a couple of hours, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Before we arrive

Resealing in Southwick: why it matters

Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Southwick. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

What you get with us

  • Work done at your home or business
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • Most jobs done in one visit

When we would advise against a repair

A repair is not right for every job, including:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms

Keeping it looking good

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Open a window after bathing
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off

Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Different materials, different repairs

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

What bath resealing costs

We do not charge extra for travel to Southwick. The price depends on:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many areas need work
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Access to the area

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How to get a fixed quote

You can take the pictures on your phone. Just make sure we can see:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any details about the material
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

If you are in Southwick and want a price, the easiest route is photos: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
