Bath resealing at your home in Stanghow

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and a new seal stops it. Whether it’s old sealant that looks dirty and silicone coming away from the tiles, we can help, on kitchen worktops & sinks, shower trays & enclosures and baths alike.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Open a window after bathing
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in

Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

How it works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, then carry out the work, which generally takes about two hours for a bath. If anything looks different from your pictures, we will talk to you before going ahead.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Preparing for the visit

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

What we can’t put right

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • A flexing bath
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units

Resealing in Stanghow: why it matters

Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, and that damage costs much more to fix. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

Your questions about bath resealing in Stanghow

When can I use the bath after resealing?

We’ll give you the curing time.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

What information do you need?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Do the materials smell?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

How long will it take?

A bath or shower normally takes a couple of hours. Leave it to cure before use.

Signs you need bath resealing in Stanghow

No sealant lasts for ever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Unsealed corners
  • Sealant that’s split or lifting
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Leaks at the edges

What to look for in a quote

  • How your room will be protected
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long

Our hiring checklist

How we price bath resealing

We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material and finish
  • How many items we do on one visit

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send pictures for a quote

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
  • Where you are, by postcode

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
