Bath Resealing for The Fence homes
Local bath resealing for The Fence: photo quotes, tidy work and a year’s guarantee.
- Water getting behind the bath or tray
- Missing sealant behind the taps
- Sealant that is split or lifting

Bath resealing in The Fence, done in place
We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint opens fully, so the seal does not tear when the bath is first used. If you’re dealing with silicone coming away from the tiles and silicone smeared on tiles, we can help.
All our work comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Gloucestershire.

Repairs by material
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.
What we’re called out for in The Fence
Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning can’t get it all out.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- Mould you cannot clean out
- Water getting behind the bath or tray
- Gaps in the seal
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
Questions to ask before you book
- Whether they match the colour on site
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- How the room is protected while they work
What a repair can’t fix
We won’t take on work that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:
- Very wide gaps that need a trim
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Why reseal now?
Resealing costs very little, and it protects everything around the bath. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
Why us?
- No extra charge for your area
- We leave the room as we found it
- Everything repaired in place
- Most jobs done in one visit

DIY kit or professional repair?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Your questions about bath resealing in The Fence
Can you quote from pictures?
In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.
What happens next?
You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.
Do you work in The Fence?
We do. We send a technician to The Fence for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Do the materials smell?
A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.
How do I book?
Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Do you charge for travel?
There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.
Keeping it looking good
Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:
- Let steam out after showers
- Keep the joints dry
- Ventilate the bathroom well
- Do not stand toiletries on the seal
Use the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
How the visit works
On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a couple of hours, tidy-up included.
- First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- We dry the joint thoroughly.
- For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
- We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Make sure the area is dry
Getting a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.
Related advice
How we price bath resealing
Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- What kind of damage it is
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- What the surface is made of
Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for The Fence. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
How to get a fixed price
You can usually get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:
- A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
If you are in The Fence and want a price, photos are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
