Bath Resealing in Tongland
Bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone at your home in Tongland, with a one-year guarantee on every repair.
- Sealant that’s split or lifting
- Water getting behind the bath or tray
- Missing sealant behind the taps

How we handle bath resealing in Tongland
We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint opens fully, so the seal does not tear when the bath is first used. We are frequently asked to fix an untidy old seal and damp near the bath, on baths, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we will come back.

When a repair is not the answer
It helps to know what we can’t do:
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- A flexing bath
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

Questions from Tongland
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
How long does resealing take?
A bath or shower typically takes a couple of hours. It then needs time to cure.
Can pets and children be at home?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
Do you seal over the old sealant?
Never over old. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.
Can you price it without visiting?
Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.
What areas do you cover?
All of Dumfries and Galloway, and the rest of the UK. There is no extra charge for travel.
Do I need to be at home?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Work for landlords and builders
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Is resealing worth it?
A professional reseal costs little compared with water damage. It’s a quick job that protects your walls and floors. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How it works
Visits start with a quick look at the job together. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. It normally takes a couple of hours.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
Before we arrive
- Let us know about parking or access
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Keep a parking space free if you can
Ask for a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
Advice
Aftercare tips
It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Use the extractor fan
Keep the room well ventilated, and dry the joints after bathing to keep mould away.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
