When we would advise against a repair

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Doors where the vinyl wrap has lifted across a large area
  • Doors swollen by water
  • Sinks cracked through the base

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Cabinet ends & plinths
  • Composite sinks
  • Gloss and matt cupboard doors
  • Vinyl-wrapped doors
  • Ceramic Belfast & butler sinks

Kitchen sink repair at your home in Tongland

Repairs are matched to the original finish, so you don’t need replacement parts. Doors with a large area of lifted vinyl generally need re-wrapping or replacing; we fix chips, dents and local damage. We’re frequently asked to fix cracks around the waste and chipped door and drawer edges, on ceramic Belfast & butler sinks, composite sinks and gloss and matt cupboard doors.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back. Use a sink mat or bowl for heavy pans, and dry the door edges after spills.

Should you replace it?

A new sink or door can mean disturbing the worktop, cabinets and plumbing, or hunting for a door that is no longer made. A repair keeps your kitchen as it is. Prices start from £95. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

The process

On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a few hours. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned and prepared.
  2. We fill chips and rebuild edges.
  3. We sand the repair to the original profile.
  4. The colour is matched to the sink or door finish.
  5. Finally we polish or seal it.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Open a window if you can

Advice

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Tongland. The price comes down to:

  • Access to the area
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Getting a price from photos

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A picture taken from further back
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Details of any past repairs

Upload a picture of the damage and one of the whole item, with your DG6 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

For landlords and businesses

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
