Need bath resealing in Wereham?

Bath resealing in Wereham without replacing anything

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and a new seal stops it. We work on baths, wet rooms and kitchen worktops & sinks, and common reasons people get in touch are stained silicone and gaps in the seal.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll sort it.

What a repair can’t fix

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we work on in Wereham

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why book with us

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Open a window after bathing
  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal

Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

What we do, step by step

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a couple of hours. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

Related advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Wereham questions

Is there any odour?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

How long does a reseal take?

Normally a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.

Is there a call-out fee?

There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.

Can you price it without visiting?

Typically, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Can new silicone go over old?

All the old sealant comes out. New silicone will not bond to old.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

Signs you need bath resealing in Wereham

Sealant doesn’t last forever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould loves, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.

The things customers normally mention when they call include:

  • Stained silicone
  • Silicone smeared on tiles
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Black mould in the sealant
