Trusted bath resealing in Widemarsh

Keeping it looking good

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Wipe the joints dry after use

Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Bath resealing in Widemarsh, done in place

A good reseal is all about preparation: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Only then does the new sealant go on, as one neat, continuous bead. Whether it’s gaps by the taps and black spots in the silicone, we can help, on wet rooms, basins & vanity units and baths alike.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once we have gone.

Different materials, different repairs

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

For landlords and businesses

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Is resealing worth it?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. A repair typically costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

What you get with us

The process

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we are doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. Allow about two hours for a bath, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Related advice

What a repair cannot fix

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Your questions about bath resealing in Widemarsh

What happens next?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide, so Widemarsh is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.

How long before I can shower?

You will get the curing time from us.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

No, we never seal over old silicone. The old sealant is cut out and the joint cleaned and dried.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

How we price bath resealing

We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether we combine several jobs

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Widemarsh. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

You can usually get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.
