Our bath repair service in HR1
Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all repaired in place, usually in a single visit. We regularly repair cast iron enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic, and people most frequently call us about a chipped rim or side and deep scratches in acrylic.
We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
- We leave it to cure; you can usually use the bath the next day.
Cost
Our bath repair starts from £95. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
Why customers in HR1 choose us
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
- Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
- One-year guarantee on every repair
- Normally one visit, start to finish
Ask for a price
There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

For rail, the closest station is Hereford station, roughly 0.6 miles north-west. Other landmarks nearby include Mappa Mundi and Chained Library Exhibition (0.7 miles west) and County Hospital (less than half a mile north-west). Green spaces nearby include Lugg Meadow and Dinedor Hill.
How to care for the repair
How the surface is treated afterwards matters:
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.
How we price bath repair
Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- The type of damage
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How many areas need work
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.
Getting a price from photos
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures through our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.
Signs you need bath repair
Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On steel and cast iron baths, a chip that reaches the metal will start to rust.
Look out for any of the following:
- A cracked acrylic bath
- Rusty patches near the plughole
- Snagging damage from a refit
- A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
Should you replace it?
Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. Generally it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement.
Comparing quotes
- What prep work is covered
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
- How long it needs to cure
For landlords and businesses
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.
Questions from HR1
Does someone need to be in?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.
Is there a call-out fee?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
Will it make a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.
Are you accredited?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.
