Worktop repair in Widemarsh

Common questions in Widemarsh

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Do you cover the entire of Herefordshire?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Widemarsh. Prices do not change with location.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

How soon can you come?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and we will quote them together.

Will there be a smell?

Expect a mild smell while we are working that clears as it cures.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Worktop repair in Widemarsh, done in place

Laminate, quartz, granite, solid surface and wooden worktops can all be repaired, matching the colour and pattern by hand. The worktop stays in place. If you are dealing with scorch marks from pans and damage to a stone worktop, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we will come back.

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone
  • Keep joints and edges dry
  • Clean spills right away
  • Do not cut directly on the worktop

Never put hot pans straight onto the worktop. Heat can mark quartz and stone as well.

Edge chips can get bigger, and water can reach the core of laminate. Repairing it early stops that.

Should you replace it?

Stone and quartz have to be templated and cut, so replacing one section is a big job. A repair takes a few hours. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What a repair can’t fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. We cannot fix:

  • Water-swollen laminate
  • A top that moves on its units
  • Cracks right through stone that has moved

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

  • Solid wood
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Granite & marble
  • Laminate
  • Quartz

How it works

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a few hours. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. First we look at the damage and what the worktop is made of.
  2. We clean the area and prepare the edges of the damage.
  3. We fill with a filler suited to the material and rebuild any missing edge.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The surface is sealed or finished to suit the worktop.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

How to compare quotes

What worktop repair costs

Repairs from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Widemarsh. The price comes down to:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How much damage there is

Compared with replacing, repairing typically costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Getting a price from pictures

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A photo taken from further back

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire worktop, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Work for landlords and builders

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Widemarsh use us as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it typically costs far less than a refit.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
