Bath resealing in Willington Quay

Bath resealing in Willington Quay without replacing anything

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Fresh joints make the entire room look cleaner, and they protect the walls and floor. Whether it’s damp near the bath and an untidy old seal, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll sort it.

How it works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. Allow a couple of hours, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Different materials, different repairs

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

What affects the price in Willington Quay

Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How much damage there is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How hard the colour is to match

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from pictures

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any details about the material

Send us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you are in Willington Quay, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Honest limits

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What happens if you find more damage?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Can you quote from photos?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

We will give you the curing time, normally around a day.

Is my repair covered?

Why does mould come back so fast?

Damp is the cause. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

How long does a reseal take?

A bath or shower usually takes a couple of hours. It then needs time to cure.

Is resealing worth it?

Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s a quick job that protects your walls and floors. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Willington Quay. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
