  • A flexing bath

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Bath resealing at your home in Wisley

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they keep water out. Typical jobs include discoloured, yellow sealant and gaps in the seal, in baths, wet rooms and basins & vanity units.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it.

Common problems we fix in Wisley

Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning can’t get it all out.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Mould you can’t clean out
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Missing sealant behind the taps

What your quote should include

  • How your room will be protected
  • When it can be used again
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT

What bath resealing costs

There’s no charge for travel to Wisley. The price depends on:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The type of damage
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Access to the area

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Getting a price from photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • What it’s made of, if you know

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Is resealing worth it?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

What you get with us

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • One visit for most repairs
  • No need to remove anything

Your questions about bath resealing in Wisley

Do the materials smell?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

What do you need from me?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

What happens after I send photos?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes about two hours for a bath, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Ask for a price

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Different materials, different repairs

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

How to look after the repair

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Air the room after use

Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
