Bath resealing near Woodcutts

Bath resealing in Woodcutts without replacing anything

We reseal baths, shower trays, basins and worktops, with mould-resistant sanitary silicone. A typical reseal takes a couple of hours. We regularly repair wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units, and people most often call us about stained silicone and silicone coming away from the tiles.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly

Avoid scraping the joints, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

DIY kit or professional repair?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Different materials, different repairs

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

How it works

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to a couple of hours.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

What bath resealing costs

We don’t charge extra for travel to Woodcutts. The price depends on:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The type of damage
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The colour and finish to match

A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Send photos for a quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • The material, if you know it

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

We’ll give you the curing time.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.
