DIY kit or professional repair?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
Coloured bath resurfacing in Brigham, done in place
Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. Common call-outs are for selling or letting a home with an old suite and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, in avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured basins and coloured shower trays.
Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee in Brigham and across Cumbria. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Common questions in Brigham
Is there a call-out fee?
We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.
Is there any odour?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.
Do you come to Brigham?
Yes, we do. Repair technicians travel to Brigham from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Can you turn my avocado bath white?
Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Typically, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Can pets and children be at home?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.
Does someone need to be in?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

How it works
On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a day or two, depending on how many items. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.
- We protect the room and ventilate it.
- Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
- We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
- We leave everything to cure, normally until the day after.
How to prepare
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Open a window if you can

Advice
Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Brigham?
Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- A suite that does not match a new bathroom
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
- Faded or patchy colour
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
Comparing quotes

When we’d advise against a repair
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.
Materials we repair
- Coloured shower trays
- Coloured basins
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
- Whole bathroom suites
