Coloured bath resurfacing across Cumbria: what to expect
A full suite is typically done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. We work on whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and coloured shower trays, and the jobs we see most are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and selling or letting a home with an old suite.
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It usually takes one to two days for a full suite, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
- The surface is prepared and primed.
- We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
- Each item is left to cure, normally ready the following day.
Prices in Cumbria
Prices start from £350. Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Why customers in Cumbria choose us
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
- Free fixed quotes from pictures
- No extra charge for your area
- Work done at your home or business
Getting a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.
Around Carlisle
We visit homes around Our Lady and St Joseph's Church, Trinity School and Milbourne Arms Public House and the streets around them. Also close by are Church of St Cuthbert with St Mary (under half a mile north) and Robert Ferguson Primary School (under half a mile south). Carlisle has its own railway station: Carlisle station. Other landmarks nearby include County Borough of Carlisle (less than half a mile north) and Carlisle Castle (0.6 miles north). Not far away are Thurstonfield Lough.
When a repair is not the answer
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. We cannot fix:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
What affects the price in Cumbria
Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Cumbria. What changes the price is:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The type of damage
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
Quotes from your pictures
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- One picture of the entire suite
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Any details about the material
You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
Common problems we fix in Cumbria
Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.
You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:
- Faded or patchy colour
- A suite that does not match a new bathroom
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
DIY kit or professional repair?
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
Repair or replace?
Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour without taking anything out.
Questions to ask before you book
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
- When it can be used again
- Who turns up on the day
FAQs for Cumbria

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Normally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send pictures.
Will you leave a mess?
