Need coloured bath resurfacing in Cowbar?

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. This is what makes a difference:

  • Access to the area
  • The type of damage
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many items we do on one visit

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

How to get a fixed price

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Cowbar

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is typically done in one to two days. Our technicians work on coloured basins, coloured shower trays and whole bathroom suites, and people most often call us about a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Redcar and Cleveland. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Work for landlords and builders

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

When to call us in Cowbar

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom

What to look for in a quote

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How soon you can use it again
  • How your room will be protected

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Cowbar. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why choose Surface Doctor in Cowbar

Can I fix it myself?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

What happens on the day

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes one to two days for a full suite, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

When a repair is not the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
